2006 CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS

I love to hear stories from my clients on where they are going to wear the jewelry we have designed for them. This weekend, our diamond necklace (converted from a family heirloom) will be walking down the aisle at the Critics Choice Awards Gala in Los Angeles. Our client is an invited guest and we were thrilled to help make the evening a sparkling success!

SNIFFLE STONES

If you are like the rest of us, you have had the sniffles or a cold in the past few months. While researching topaz for my book, which will be out soon, I noticed an interesting tidbit about topaz. It says that "in ancient times, topaz was believed to prevent colds because of its ability to give additional strength to the breathing mechanics of the body." If you don't already have a topaz, come by and let me give you a prescription for some beautiful blue topaz!

BLACK & WHITE

The beautiful combination of black and white is still very hot! The dramatic contrast these two colors make are not only sophisticated, but very fashionable. I like to mix black and white pearls together in a necklace or earrings or set a black and white pearl together on a contemporary ring. Watch for black rubber cords and new black gemstones coming on board by the designers we carry. If you need a ring with a black gemstone, we can either design one for you or redesign one that you have with a black onyx or spinel. Bring in your ideas and we will bring them to life!

FURS & JEWELS

Need to give one of your outfits a lift? Try letting us put pearls on your fur or gemstones on your jacket. Besides working with your jewelry to modernize it, we can help redesign a special outfit that will truly be one-of-a kind.

LOOKING GOOD

In my upcoming book, I talk about ways to wear jewelry that compliments your personality and wardrobe. Here are some tips:

For a great jewelry collection, buy your clothes with your jewelry in mind. Fine jewelry always looks better on solid clothes with clean lines. Prints tend to be too distracting, and draw attention away from your jewelry.
Wear brooches higher on your clothes to be seen better. Sometimes a lapel is too low and the brooch gets lost on your outfit.
Wear the type of earrings that are attractive on the shape of ear you have. Width and length can be both positive and negative, so be sure you are wearing what is complementary

CIRCLES

As a symbol of the eternity of love, the circle is still very hot in jewelry. Earrings and pendants can be found with circles by most of the contemporary jewelry designers. I just made some circle earrings with some diamonds lying around in one of my client's drawers and now she is right in style! Let me "circle-ize" your jewelry into something glitzy!
