WEDDING STONES
Did you know that this year, one out of sixty-two Americans will get married and the average cost of a wedding is now $26, 300? Here are some of the latest trends in the bridal market:
Colored stones are now being seen more often in wedding rings and as jewelry for the bride at her wedding. Blue sapphires suggest sincerity, red rubies convey passion and colored diamonds symbolize love and optimism.
Jeweled watches in a variety of colors are being seen on the wrists of brides as they walk down the aisle.
Unique combinations of hand crafted pieces, pearls, and enameled jewelry are being worn to complement the elegance of wedding fashions.

PLUS SIZE
While attending a recent diamond conference in New York, I attended a session on "plus size" jewelry. We have always offered this but for those of you who may desire a larger bracelet, ring, or necklace, we can do it for you. From adding links to repositioning clasps, we can make your jewelry fit you comfortably. Don't be afraid to see our large selection of "plus size" jewelry.
REDESIGN IS FINE
As designers go, I am always looking for clothes that don't seem to exist. In the past year, I have resorted to buying dresses and redesigning them into the pieces I want. It was a real challenge when my daughter got married last year. I cut up the dress I found, added lace, sequins, and had it made for me. I had a ball this past fashion market in New York picking up ideas and fabrics to create the things I want to wear this fall. Want to try redesigning? I'll be glad to help!

TURQUOISE IS STILL HOT
Being a native El Pasoan I have been exposed to turquoise all my life. After I visited Gallup, NM, I developed a real fondness for it and learned about the many different kinds found. Everywhere I look, from fashion magazines to resort city boutiques, I see turquoise stones and beads intermeshed with other colored stones. If you have some turquoise lying around in your drawers, bring it in so I can spruce it up with pearls, gold, or whatever we choose that excites you!
BOLD IS BETTER
One of the latest crazes are necklaces that make a big statement designed with extra large beads, pearls, faux pearls or multi-strands. Black and white is really dramatic, but so are lively bright colors. Celebrate a new outfit with a bold necklace this season or bring some of your old pieces by and we'll make you one.

ART & JEWELRY
My background in Art Metals has always inspired me to appreciate the designers who use artistic motifs to design their jewelry. These rings are beautiful works of art like mini sculptures, each one unique and interesting all the way around. If you like artsy things, come by and see our latest "Art & Jewelry" exhibit!

PEARL POWER
What a fabulous look mixing different kinds of pearls with gold chains! Pearls are a wonderful addition to any outfit and can be perfect for evening or day wear. Purples, pinks, blacks, blues, and apricots make for an incredible array of colors. Bring in your pearls and we will restyle them into a dramatic new look.
BUTTERFLY BUZZ
The fine jewelry columnists are buzzing about butterflies - the new subject for brooches, pendants, and earrings. Butterflies are colorful and graceful creatures that add beauty to our lives. Their ability to fly gives us a feeling of freedom and timelessness. Add one of these exotic creatures to your jewelry wardrobe soon!
DIAMONDS ARE UP
The last several months have seen a 3-4% price hike in the prices of fine quality diamonds. If you already have them, be sure they are insured for the right value. If not, don't wait too long or you'll get caught in the next price hike. Now is the time to start thinking about that new diamond piece you've been wanting.

Did you know that the cable bracelet was first designed in the 5th Century B.C.? Twisted cable bands were prominent in the ancient Celtic world where they symbolized wealth, loyalty, and valor. They were worn around the necks of warriors as they went into battle. Over the past decade, a variety of jewelry designers picked up the ancient art form and made it popular again. No contemporary designer can attribute the cable design to their own creation. As artists and designers, we process designs that we see, interpret them in our own form, and create new ones as a reflection of our artistic personalities. That's what I love about designing jewelry...its creating from within each time. Come by and let me design something unique and special for you that we will create together!
