Most water resistant watches require pressure testing after being opened to prevent water from getting inside and ruining the movement. There are many types of crystals used in watches. We supply the branded type your watch was designed for, and if it is out of stock or no longer being made, we can have one custom cut for your watch or pocket watch. From synthetic sapphire, mineral glass, plastic or other materials, let us know what you prefer and we will have our watchmakers install it for you.
Restoration of older timepieces and more expensive timepieces may take longer due to reliance on obtaining vintage parts or the availability of parts ordered from the specific brands. We have excellent watchmakers that fix many brands of vintage watches, and we use specialists in Rolex, Breitling, Jaeger LeCoultre and many other brands to repair your vintage timepieces.
We use authentic parts and oils required by the manufacturer on your timepiece unless such parts are not available. In these cases, we use generic parts of the same quality to those originally installed by the manufacturer. For the older timepieces, we may machine tool parts no longer available in the marketplace. Because many top brands require trades, used branded or damaged parts may not be returned.
We guarantee our repair and restoration work for a minimum of one year. Exceptions to our guarantee include crystal breakage, damage to straps or problems with the case, movement or bracelet not part of our restoration, or damage caused by impact or other damage determined by the matchmaker.
If your time is limited, you are likely wondering how long it will take to get your watch restored. Offering an exact timeline is not possible because several factors will determine the amount of time that will be needed to find and resolve any issues. Getting your watch into the jewelry store as quickly as possible is the best way to speed up the process. So we invite you to visit us right away, and we will promptly get to work on your timepiece. We will fix it and give it back to you faster than you thought possible, and we know that you will be happy with the outcome.
Here is a photo of a Rolex movement showing the detailing that is done to confirm its authenticity. We compare watch movements when they are brought in for Rolex verification to determine if they are authentic. In our Rolex training in New York, we were told that there are over 200 moving parts in each automatic Rolex movement and that is why they are such a quality timepiece. Many watches marked "Rolex" are imitations and need to be examined by a qualified watchmaker to give you the correct advice. The worse thing you can do is try to authenticate it yourself and be wrong. To determine
if a Rolex watch is authentic, it takes experience and knowledge that comes from many years of handling
Rolex watches
This is an example of a quartz movement that uses a battery and various other parts. They are much less sophisticated to repair and purchase.
